Why not enter a Marathon this year? The Lakeland Trails Marathon on 1st July 2012 at Coniston, has only 61 places remaining (as of 17/05/12), and is described by Runnersworld magazine as the most scenic off road marathon in the UK. The new Half Marathon is now being set off in two waves and limited entry has been re-opened until 31st May - please enter now to guarantee your place.

The Lakeland Trails senior events are split into three events to reduce the numbers on the public rights of way. The new 10km Trail Run takes place in the morning at every venue, great for the novice or rookie trail runner. The Challenge sets off first on the longer distance "classic trails" for less competitive runners, ideal for those wanting to take it easy and enjoy the views. The Race sets off an hour or more afterwards, and is for the competitive boys and girls. Both of the Challenge and the Race follow exactly the same stunning, scenic course.

An exciting and fun atmosphere is guaranteed for spectators and competitors alike. Live music with a race commentary and other entertainments all make for a great day out for all the family.

Children's Fun Trails take place when most of the competitors are back from the Trail. These short fun runs for children under 12 are about having fun and taking part in a big arena. All finishers are rewarded with a special medal.
