Unfortunately it has been necessary to re-schedule this event due to the continuing situation related to covid-19. We will return in 2021 and thank you for your understanding with this extremely hard decision
Due to the updated Government legislation, unfortunately it's not going to be possible for us to sail on the Ullswater Steamers this year. Instead, we will be using adapted versions of our contingency routes (which people enjoyed in 2017 and 2018) so you can still enjoy the stunning trails along Ullswater's eastern shore and up to the viewpoint of Silver Crag. At Side Farm, the 14K course will give you a challenge as you climb up to Boredale Hause, before an exhilerating descent back down to the Patterdale Valley. Maps of the routes will be added to the Information section shortly.
We'll still have live music, race commentary, food
and drink all available at the start and finish. So, whether you're
new to trail running, an experienced athlete, or simply looking for
an unforgettable day out in the Lake District, a family-friendly, atmosphere and some amazing trail running awaits you!
Fancy saving money and combining it with the Helvellyn event the day before? You can enter the 'Dirty Double' weekend here.
A shorter distance event for everyone over the age of 16, on a well marked and marshalled course, with graded runnable climbs and descents. There is a time limit of 2 1/2 hours and to enter you must be at least 16 years old.
An event for less competitive runners and fitness walkers. If you want to take it easy and enjoy the views, this is the one for you. There is a time limit of 3 1/2 hours for the Challenge and to enter you must be at least 18 years old.
For the competitive runner, a well marked and marshalled course with fast, graded runnable climbs and descents for those used to off road running. There is a time limit of 2 hours for the Race and to enter you must be at least 18 years old.
Final Details and Start Lists will be available from this page approximately 2 weeks before the event. Don't forget your
start number and timing chip are collected on race day from registration at Jenkins' Field, which is a short walk from where event car parking is located. Please note, registration for each race closes 1 hour before its respective start time.
Mandatory Kit List - Cagoule, tights or over trousers, hat and gloves. The Ullswater Trail is unique and follows one of the most beautiful lakeside trails in the UK. Access is difficult for a large section of the route, and rapid-response safety teams can only reach it by boat. For this reason, we have a mandatory safety kit list which you must bring with you (wearing or carrying).
Don't forget your start number and timing chip are collected on race day from registration in our main marquee at Jenkins Field. Event car parking is at King George V Playing Fields (clearly signposted) a short, level 10 minute walk to our start/finish venue.
