14th July 2020
Unfortunately, there is still some vagueness and questions to be answered, and you’ll be aware that guidance has a habit of being issued and then changed soon after. With that in mind, we have reluctantly decided to re-schedule Lakeland Trails in Hawkshead to Saturday 17th April 2021. We think this is the fairest option for everyone involved, rather than waiting and waiting for clarifications only to potentially hit a stumbling block at the last minute. It will give those of you booked onto the event the opportunity to swap to another this year if you want to do so (please see below for further information about that) and it will also give local B+Bs the chance to fill their accommodation if you decide to cancel an existing booking. Hawkshead itself benefits a huge amount from our event so if you’re still able to visit at a different time of year, the local businesses would welcome you.
We’re pausing all entry for 2021 until the weekend to ensure that any of you booked onto Hawkshead have first pick of the other events and will aim to re-open it on Sunday 19th July at 8pm. Entry will then still be available at Earlybird rates for a further week. In order to ensure our Autumn events take place in a Covid-secure way, it is likely we will have to place a limit on capacity for some events and we’ll share any changes with you in good time so that you know what to expect and can enjoy the events as much as possible.
We’ve added a ‘Covid-19’ page to our new website which should answer any of your questions and we’ll be in contact separately with everyone booked onto Hawkshead shortly to go through options with them.
Sorting out the Hawkshead changes is going to be a large job for our small team (we’ll have to bring one member back off furlough to help) so thanks for your patience and understanding if it takes a little longer than usual to reply if you can’t find an answer to questions on our website.
Whilst we would have loved to see you all in Hawkshead, we will look forward to Keswick! The Trails are coming…
