Volunteers

We always have opportunities for you to get involved at the Lakeland Trails events as a volunteer – it’s a really rewarding experience and how many of our crew first got involved in the events. We have positions available for all sorts of simple, yet important roles, from marshalling and stewarding duties to helping at water stations and giving out T shirts.

In return for your support, you’ll receive a range of benefits (details below). All we ask is that you make yourself available to attend a briefing at 9am and then help either until 1pm, or from 12pm onwards (many people enjoy it so much that they help out all day). If you can’t help for that long, we’d still love to have your support, but you might need to help out twice for a free entry.

So, whether you're injured, having a break, coming along with another competitor, or just fancy helping out and having some fun with our friendly team we'd love to hear from you. Drop us an email to volunteers@lakelandtrails.org and we'll be in touch shortly!

In return for your support you’ll receive:

• Credit towards a free future race entry (which can be transferred to another family member)
(Two credits can be put towards a Marathon entry. Three credits can be used for an Ultra 55K entry and four credits are required for an Ultra 100K place)
• Free event t-shirt (subject to availability and at the discretion of Lakeland Trails Crew)
• Welfare pack including snacks
• Free meal from the Green Canteen at the end of marshalling duties and a coffee from a concession
• A Lakeland Trails water bottle and item of headwear (one per season)
• Marshals’ Spot Prize for an inov8 product or Pete Bland voucher at each event
• Discounts on inov-8 products via their website
• Invitation to the Pre-Season Trails and Ales Party

We always try and be as flexible as possible but please note that:
• Marshals for the 5k and 10k might not be able to run in the Challenge
• Marshals running in the 10k will usually need to have a 10k time of less than an hour to marshal in the afternoon
