The 14km Ullswater Trail (Race & Challenge), and the NEW! 10km Ullswater Trail Run follow a stunning course along "the most scenic lakeside trail in the UK"
Please note : Early Bird Entry for the 2012 event is now OPEN, with a discounted "dirty double" weekend special, for those wanting to double up with Saturday's Helvellyn Trail
Starting from the Ullswater Pier at Glenridding (postcode : CA11 OU5), your journey starts with a beautiful half hour cruise aboard the Ullswater Steamer "Raven", whilst being seranaded by singer/songwriter Pete Lashley, brings you to the start in the hamlet of Howtown. The course along well marked and marshalled footpaths and bridleways follows the lake shore, giving panoramic views of Hellvelyn and the surrounding peaks. Much of the course passes through ancient woodland, which will be at it's autumnal best.
Underfoot conditions can be tricky at times, especially if wet. The trail is quite rocky in places and great care is needed if running fast. Check out the slide show of the course.
The finish arena will be adjacent to the Ullswater Steamers pier where a warm welcome awaits you. Event car parking is at King George V Playing Fields, a short 5 minute walk to the pier.
The course has kilometre markers, there are great prizes on offer for the Trail Race, and veteran class winnner's.
There are children's Fun Trails too for under 12's - short laps around the finish arena for all abilities and all children win a finisher's medal.
An awesome day out !
