Rules

To count in the overall Puma Lakeland Trails 2008 series, you must complete at least 3 of the Trails. (Hawkshead, Garburn, Derwentwater & Coniston).

Points are awarded to all finishers (Challenge, Nordic Walking & Trail Race), based on their finishing times. The fastest man and woman will receive 500 points, with the following 2nd fastest receiving 499, the third 498 and so on. All finishers will be allocated points. The Garburn Trail, on 31st May, is the toughest trail of them all, and therefore points earned on this trail will be higher. ie : fastest = 600 points, 2nd 599 points, 3rd 598 points etc,etc.

The Puma Lakeland Trails 2008 series ranking lists will be posted on the Lakeland Trails pages of the website, immediately after each event. Although the Challenge and Nordic Walking are essentially non-competitive, your finishing times will still qualify you for ranking points.

The Puma Lakeland Trails 2008 series class winner will be the person with the most number of points after all four events in their respective class. Points earned from all four events will be used.

Prizes will be awarded to all class winners (Men & Women's Open, Under 21, V40, V50 & V60). The 2008 Lakeland Trails prize giving will take place after the last event on 4th October. The prizes will be a specially commissioned limited edition framed photograph of the Lake District from one of the Lakeland Trails with engraved silver trophies for the men's and women's Open winners.

Puma Lakeland Trails 2008 series entrants are permitted to change events (ie from the Trail Race to the Challenge or Nordic Challenge). Series entries are non transferable to other individuals and series entries are non refundable.

Sport Trails 2008 - a new series of shorter (4-5km) scenic trails at each of the Lakeland Trails venues, suitable for the rookie, novice or younger trail runner (or walker), with a minimum age of 12. Points will be awarded to all finishers (men/boys; women/girls) with 1st male & female 200 points, 2nd 199 points, 3rd 198 points etc. To count in the overall Sport Trails series, you must finish at least three events. Points earned from all four events will be used.

Prizes will be awarded to the class winners (first Man & Woman over 16, and first Boy & Girl under 16). The Sport Trails 2008 prize giving will take place after the last event on 4th October. The prizes will be a specially commissioned limited edition framed photograph of the Lake District from one of the Lakeland Trails.
