Testimonials

"Just wanted to take a moment to say thank you for an incredible experience on Sunday. Neither of us had run a trail run before and this was great. We are road runners that have now been hooked by the more demanding routes of these trail races/challenges. As a slower runner (Mary) I truly appreciate the staggered start times with a division for my ability. I would not have been able to participate in the faster race and thus miss out on a fantastic opportunity. Thank you again for taking into consideration all abilities. We've been looking ahead to the April date for Hawkshead and will most likely be signing up for that one. Congrats on a job well done !" Mary & Graham Pomfret

"Thanks to all the people who helped me when I tripped and cut my head open, whilst running the Coniston Trail Race. Special thanks to the lady runner, who's name I think, is Jane from Blackburn. Sorry that you had to sacrifice your race position and blood soaked running top for me. Also thanks to the man who was walking his dog, who happened to be a doctor, luckily. They both stayed with me until I was in safe hands. I had to have 12 stitches in the cut. I am feeling much better now and am even starting to think more positively about returning to have another go at finishing the race again next year. I hope the ambulance team got to watch some of the England v Australia rugby match. Many thanks again to all who helped me." Peter Greenfield, Nuneaton

"What a fantastic day, superb race, challenging but completely enthralling. Very well organised and marshalled -thanks to all involved. Runners very friendly, good cameraderie. My first trail race but am inspired to run more. Thanks for an ace day." Susan Clapham

"Challenging route but the scenery is spectacular. The long climb out of Coniston village was a killer but the views from the top made it all worthwhile. A real mixture of terrain: road, dirt tracks, fast rocky decents, wet and boggy paths. Superb organisation and a nice friendly atmosphere. Definitely back next year, hopefully for the whole series." Moorlarb

"The best of Cumbria -- great views, friendly people, lots of mud!!  After years running the fells just for fun, this was my first trail race and I loved it. Great views, fun people, awe-inspiring race winners, and friendly organization. I'll be back!" Alice Ridout

"A great day, a superb course, and my commendations to you for the organisation"

"Roll on next year, I cant wait. Great event & great series. Top notch organisation, brilliant settings, stunning scenery. Cant give it enough praise. Well recommended if you like your running hilly & tough and if you dont enter the Challenge or the Nordic Walk. Something for everyone." Kwaka

"Great race. Really enjoyed it! My first trail race but wanting more" Andy Painter

"Again, again!  Being a first timer had little idea what to expect, hard going up the steep rocky bits but thoroughly enjoyed finding my feet down the other side. I registered 9.26 miles, must have taken the corners a bit wide! Just wish I could have looked at scenery a bit more than my feet. Can't wait for next one." Ann-ie

"Great race, really enjoyed. This was my second race of the series and I hope next year I can manage to fit in all four. Personally I think Garburn was even more scenic but this race is also magnificent. Really great fun...let's have more!" Mustavabanana

"What a fantastic event, thankyou for the good organisation. I'm now hooked on trail running"

"Good race, loved it - more challenges like this would be good - they are accessible to runners like us with no fell running experience - but have the opportunities to enjoy the hills and views. Look forward to next year - hopefully attempt the whole series"

"Thanks for a fantastic day ! Although I've spent most of my life in the mountains I've never done this sort of thing before. What a fantastic bunch of people. Brilliant organisation. Can't wait for the next one"

"Also my first trail race, and a great introduction. More demanding than I'd anticipated, but a great sense of achievement. Will be back next year, perhaps for the whole series." The Hobble It

"Many, many thanks to yourselves and all who made the Coniston event truly memorable. It was everything you said it would be ! I can honestly write that it was well worth the 5am start. The route was ideal with an easy finish. The changing facilities were palatial and the car parking was so easy. The atmosphere in the finish area was brilliant and the mix of serious competition, fun and good sportsmanship made the event all that a sporting event should be. I had thought that those days were over and am delighted that they are still present. Please give my thanks to the sponsors, traders and those who donated prizes. The result of such generosity makes me want to seek out their products and spend my cash at their shops and businesses. I look forward to the next event, and indeed to the whole series" Ian Holloway

"Brilliant fun. The only real minor point were the queue on the rocky thin sections. Didn't spoil this brilliant event, though. Much easier than Hawkshead. I'll be back next year." Chester Steve

"Loved it! Many thanks to Graham & Claire and all involved. Love the whole concept of this. As a slow runner, I did the challenge and so was able to finish with lots of others around [unlike Derwentwater where I did the Race & finished at the back ....]. I even stopped to look at the views by the watefall. Definitely thinking of doing all four next year." MudLark
